Tearing

Tearing is an unwanted visual effect causing the image to appear out of place, giving the sensation of being torn (hence the name). This error happens because the content generated by the graphics card is not synced with the displayed image. For example, when the fps of the video game does not match the monitor's refresh rate. The vercial synchronization or V-Sync is a common solution.
